Method or style technique used will always depend on the preference and requirements of the student. It will also depend on the style of music. For example, classical guitar requires perfection of technique for good execution. This requires practice of scales, arpeggios and such. For brass instrumental students, I generally use the Rubank Method books, focusing on care of the instrument and basic fundamentals. For piano students I use a variety of different method books and am not tied down to any one series. We will also work on scales and the Hannon series For vocal students, I use a series of vocalises, scales and other exercises to strengthen the voice.
