For beginning voice I start with the fundamentals and breathing techniques. For beginning Clarinet lessons I start with the basics and fundamentals from assembling and disassembling the instrument along with proper cleaning, Storage and proper placement of fingers for playing and basic breathing techniques. I have instructed voice and general music at the middle school, high school, and college level. I serve as piano and voice instructor for the Loveland Academy of Music, and teach both instruments at my home studio and in my students' homes. As each student brings with them characteristics that are physical, mental as well as emotional, learning these characteristics allows me insights which form the creative process. I will always encourage each student, because I believe that everybody has musical ability, and I like to keep competition to a minimum. Everybody has strengths and weaknesses, and it's important to acknowledge the student's strengths as often as possible! The weaknesses are just what we're there to work on.
