For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs. I sang with the choir in Carnige Hall in New York City twice. I went over sees to The Festival of the Aegean in Greece. And then that passion took me to get a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Mercer University. A lot of musicians are jacks of all trades, but I have specialized in mastery of the voice for the past fifteen years. Often there are students with previous instructors and I have no trouble picking up where the student left off. I can recommend books or a series as well as supplemental skills practice books.
