The methods that I normally use are the Alfred Basic Piano Library, and the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures. I also use technique books such as Fingerpower, Hanon, and Czerny. I always incorporate Music Theory in my lessons as well as improvisation. i am familiar with the Royal Conservatory of Music technical requirements and find them necessary to any student wanting to become proficient at piano/keyboard playing. I use may online worksheets for theory, improvisation and fun repertoire as well. i am open to the needs of the student but also have a structured method of teaching so that all aspects of the music learning process is followed. For beginning students who are children, it would be about really listening to notes, begin to emulate the sound of a note, in keeping it simple, with learning breathing techniques to protect the vocal cords and understanding the process of Diaphragmatic Breathing. For adults, it would be about finding their voice, breathing techniques as well, and performance ideas.
