I am a music teacher in the Central Florida area! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of Miami and my principal instrument is Voice (various styles). But, I have also played flute piccolo for several years, and also play guitar, ukulele, and basic piano/keyboard. In college I toured to Europe and New York with the top choir, played multiple instruments in the marching band, and sang in a professional choir on campus. Read More

I love to watch a student progress. It gives me such joy to see them happy. I always evaluate every student and I set for them small and realistic goals. I explain to them that in order to achieve a certain goal you must first obtain the facility by practicing the exercises assigned to them. Sometimes its hard for small children to understand why they are doing a certain exercise so I explain to them and show what the drummer is doing on a certain performance they want to emulate and in order to achieve that, they must go through the exercises assigned. Due to my experience working with multiple grade/age levels, I have learned to carefully fine tune my teaching strategy for each individual student that I work with. At the beginner level I typically work from method books to ensure a solid development of performance fundamentals. I also like to spend a good bit of time establishing successful warm-up and practice routines. With intermediate level students I continue with more challenging method books as well as standard musical excerpts and etudes. Read More

For me is very important to know what are the students ambitions are from the beggnining; weither they are taking lessons to play flute just for fun or if they have higher aspirations. From there I can make a proper study plan for them as an induvidual, which is paramount in helping achieve the students expectations. For beginners, I will start with all the necessary information that you need about the flute: how to handle the flute, how to clean it up after practicing, and then move onto correct breating, first tone etc...For more experienced fluitests, I will get to know about their background knowledge and have them play the last pieces that have learned to get an idea of where we would start. During the initial lesson, I determine what the student is interested in learning the best approach pace to help them achieve their goals. While I have recommend materials to varying levels of students, every lesson approach is different. With all my students, I believe keeping them engaged and excited at what they are doing is most important. I've found even the simple act and writing out a favorite song and learning through that can give wonderful benefits, gaining new tools without realizing. Read More

Over the years I've really come to appreciate being a music instructor. I've never found it boring. Its always interesting and a great opportunity to grow as well. I've been playing music in Bands, Orchestras, and Jazz Ensembles since 1975. I've recorded multiple albums of my own original music. Nowadays I spend most of my musical time teaching, composing, and recording original music. I have great passion for electronic music in particular and enjoy working with synthesizers, software, and other various analog and digital devices. Read More
