The body is an important part of singing. My lessons often incorporate fun, sometimes silly but Always useful movement. I like to send students home with one challenge every week, and a larger challenge for every month. Success feels good for any student, and short term goals that tie in to long term goals are a good way to keep feeling inspired and developing a drive to succeed. Teaching is something I truly love. I love to see my students progress and succeed in the areas of music they choose. This is why I work hard to look for outlets for my students, if they so wish, to perform. I think that music is healing a way to express yourself and communicate with out ever speaking a word. I do not stick to one method or style of teaching as each student is different. A twelve-year-old student who wants to write songs, and sing Taylor Swift, will need a very different approach than a fifty-year-old opera singer. However, I do implement two very important key points in my teaching: Honesty and health. My teaching experience is rather diverse. I started teaching private lessons thirty years ago and I always loved sharing what I knew with others. I've never stopped teaching private lessons, but I've also taught group lessons and music classes in private schools, I've taught adult classes and I've taught college classes at two schools in New Jersey. I like to combine fundamentals of music with showing students what I'm currently up to with the main goal of getting the student to be able to play what he or she wants to as soon as possible.
