Often i will model by playing a song first so that the student cannot not only hear what is sounds like but observe my technique, finger changes, dynamic ranges, tempo and so on. After finishing school, I began establishing my own studio. In addition to classical piano, I have received two years of collegiate-level vocal instruction. Singing has been a part of my life since a very young age--I believe singing is a wonderful form of musical expression and recommend it to enhance instrumentalists' understanding of phrasing. I love singing and I love teaching. I've taught voice off and on since 2002. My studio has included students from EVERY age bracket, ages 6- 70 and I've truly enjoyed each! When not teaching singing, I've taught elementary music preK-8, directed junior high choir and musicals, taught kindergarten and tutored students K through college. I love performing and have been soloist in many classical pieces including Vivaldi's Gloria, Hayden's Little Organ Mass and several works by Mozart. Read More

I have recently relocated to the Charles Town WV area from Vermont. I have been teaching voice since 1989. I deeply enjoy helping students find their voice and developing their authentic style. My music background includes a great deal of performing in oratorios, choral and orchestral concerts, small vocal ensembles, musical theater, and cabarets. I am a frequent soloist at church on Sundays, as well as for funerals and weddings.
