Learning to sing is a rewarding and worthwhile endeavor and I approach my students individualistically. I assign my student vocal exercises and repertoire and provide clear and thorough instruction to keep lessons fun and engaging! I challenge my students to practice and perfect the assigned homework and songs so that we may keep improving every week. Through the years, I have built a vocal technique from the ground up which has allowed me to teach and guide students in their own journey in singing. Read More

In the initial meeting with a student I talk through what they want to accomplish what genre's of music the would like to play and what kind of personality they have. Then I have more of an understanding of what direction to go in to personalize the teaching. I believe very much in the saying "there's only one way to Carnegie Hall PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE". I customize the curriculum and repertory for each of my students based on their personal goals, which we will discuss in the first lessons. Do you want to play for yourself or to perform publicly? What kinds of repertory appeal to you and how much time do you have to practice? From there we will create a plan that best meets these goals. For beginners, this will include a method book (I often use Faber Piano Adventures for young beginners and Alfred Adult-In-One methods) to get you started. Read More

I give the student constructive feedback on progress and acknowledge accomplishments. I try keeping an inspirational and open-ended environment for exploration, for music making is fun! I love contributing to the education and growth of fellow musicians. Read More
