I like to create lesson plans around what kind of music the student wants to learn. For example, most young girls want to learn Disney princess songs. So I print them off their own copies of the songs that they had expressed an interest in learning. I feel like if the student is not interested in playing or singing the music that I am giving them it could be the best curriculum in the world, but it won't help them learn if they are not actively engaged in the music they are singing or playing. I am incredibly fulfilled by witnessing growth in my students, and love the "Ah-HA!" moments. My approach is based on the student's learning patterns and interests, and tailor my lessons to each individual student. I feel that music is the ultimate form of expression, and I try to make my foundation as limitless as possible. Growth is the main goal for me and my students. Some featured roles include portraying Phyllis in Gilbert Sullivans Iolanthe, Despina in Mozarts Cosi fan tutte, and Susanna in Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro. In the spring of 2009, I was a featured soloist for Charpentier's Midnight Mass at the UTSA Masterwork Concert, and again in 2010 for Handel's Messiah. In 2013, I performed as the soprano soloist at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Haydn's 'Lord Nelson' Mass, Pergolesi's 'Stabat Mater', and Poulenc's 'Gloria'. Read More
