Instruments: Voice
I believe strongly in cross training and giving my students the tools and resources needed to practice on their own and assess their own voice in order to improve more efficiently and quickly. My main goal as a teacher is to help my students sing in whatever genre they are interested in with their true, natural voice in a healthy way that allows longevity. Once a student truly understands their voice, that confidence will take them to the next level, whatever that may be! Read More

My methods are unique and created to fit the individual musician, because we all learn differently! For beginners, I incorporate elements of Orff and Kodaly. For the young beginner musician, I like to use games to hone in and sharpen aural comprehension. For intermediate and advanced pianists, my go-to piano repertoire comes from Nancys and Randall Fabers Piano Adventures. For vocalists or music theory students, I use tools straight from my collegiate, educational repertoire. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
All of my beginning piano students will be learning the five finger scales and hand placement. I will always integrate advanced theory techniques when teaching my students because I believe that this will be beneficial in the long run as they progress to intermediate and advanced levels. For advanced students, they will be expected to learn the notes on their own as per the standard of that level so that the lessons can be focused on artistry, performance etiquette, and interpretations. The most important thing for me when it comes to teaching is knowing that my student is progressing but also enjoying their experience overall, another very important factor is overall retention of the information. Every person is different so there is really no cut and dry method of teaching, keeping this in mind the experience for everyone should be unique in a way. By setting routines together Im sure we could come to an agreement on how we could both help each other achieve our goals and succeed. Read More

In short, each lesson will simply include the use of traditional written and aural theory, scales, chords and arpeggios as well as cater to the genre/repertoire preferences and the student's own unique learning style and personality. I encourage effective practicing strategies during the lesson as well as communicate with the parents on how they might enforce practicing at home. Above all, the most important aspect of the learning process is to have FUN. Read More

I have taught in a variety of settings including children through teens and adults, and children with disabilities, both online and in person, one-on-one and in groups. I started in 2014. I have found that the best method includes positive motivation, which includes both encouragement for what the student is doing successfully, and also pushing the student in areas where they may feel hesitant. If the student enjoys the lesson and feels positive, they'll be less hesitant and excel! Read More

I have a natural innate ability to teach and to help students to understand the joy of playing the guitar. My motivation and passion is the love of teaching. I love it when my students have an “aha” moment of sudden insight or discovery about the guitar. I am very patient and encouraging with instruction toward students, never causing them to feel unaccepted or discouraged. I continually create an attitude of unconditional positive regard toward their lessons and their ability to be successful. Read More
