In my private lessons I emphasize building a strong foundation in rhythm, intonation, and note accuracy.  I incorporate learning theory, and playing with musical intention into every lesson to develop maturity, even in young musicians.  My students are comfortable reading music, and have all the skills they need to practice effectively.  In addition, I have prepared many musicians for successful concerts, festivals, and gigs. To be a secure singer, you need to develop beauty, quality, and healthy production of the tone throughout the voice. I use the basic classical warm ups , fundaments of classical singing , strengthening the diaphragm and voice placement. Building range slowly and carefully while building stamina through exercises and pieces that will help the individual voice grow. For Jazz , I use The Michele Weir Jazz Improvisation as a starting point. For students who want to build their technique but don't want operatic training per say, I work a lot with musical theatre pieces as well as pop or disney. Read More

We explore different song styles and different exercises that speak to each individual student. I also believe in regularly providing constructive criticism and encouragement for each student's accomplishments. The more you inspire your student, the more driven they become.
