My favorite book for beginning singers is the 24 Italian Songs Arias. A lot of good habits and technique can be learned through repertoire. For students who are young children, I like to start working on fundamental musical and singing concepts, including posture, breath management, pitch matching, music literacy, and expression. I work with each student to find songs which are appropriate for their voice, and songs they are excited about working on.
