I have taught music for over 20 years; it is a profession that I love passionately. My students include adult beginners, students ages 7-17, and intermediate and advanced students of all ages. I am drawn to the possibilities teaching presents to discover music together with another person. In 2013, I graduated with a Bachelor's in Music from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Peck School of the Arts. I honed my craft of private teaching and also specializing in Balkan folk works, arranged for flute and secondary woodwinds. In 2019, I extended these skills over into Vocalism: singing, beatboxing, rapping, and spoken word. Ergo, my best work to date is an original composition called "LatinAmerica". I received a Master’s degree in Music from the Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia, PA in 2015 for Vocal Performance. Before that, I graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P.I. Tchaikovsky in Kiev in 2013, where I received a Bachelor in Music, took parts in a lot of operas ("Le nozze di Figaro", "Eugene Onegin", "Faust") and also earned a certificate of teaching. My teaching experience dates back to high school when I started teaching cello to students in my school district's orchestra program. Since then, I have continued to teach freelance through personal connections, Musika, and various non-profit organizations. Furthermore, I am currently in my internship to become a board certified music therapist, and have experience teaching music to individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and dementia/Alzheimer's. I use Bastien Piano Basics for young and older beginners, as well as supplemental books from Alfred Piano and Hal Leonard. For intermediate students, we begin building a repertoire together of pieces the student enjoys and plays well. I try to find a nice balance between classical, traditional, and popular music. For voice I use the Little Singers series for kids and supplemental books of songs from Hal Leonard. These songs include Disney favorites and other classic songs such as "Puff, the Magic Dragon". My teach style varies based on the need of the student. I have students that are serious so I would create a syllabus that consist of taking exams or perform in recitals. My other students who just want to have fun with piano, I teach them little pop songs. My method is based on what the student desire. I want my students to enjoy playing the piano. I try to help students set realistic goals that will make them feel happy and accomplished and let them move at their own pace.
