For a beginning student on guitar, I have them learning notes from a Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, or Alfred starter book. All these books are great, but I believe it depends on the individual student and how they learn. I also teach tab to beginners. I feel it is important to read tabs these days as well as notes. I also work with music theory. It is also important to know what you are doing, not just putting your fingers on the strings. Read More

I was awarded as Best Musical Actress by HOLA 2020 in the production of El Barbero de Sevilla with New Camerata Opera in the role of Elena. In April 2020 I was to make my debut as Frasquita in Carmen at Rose Theater at Lincoln Center with MasterVoices which was canceled due to COVID19. With children, I gage how well their grasping the fundamentals before learning songs. Once we've gotten their we move forward to learning about different techniques.
