I began to teach when I was at Berklee college of Music. I love people who are interested in learning new stuff, and willing to learn from each other! Not only Jazz lovers, I teach currently at a K-pop academy in K-town Manhattan. It is great fun to teach! Music connect people from different genre and style. It is amazing learning experience for me as well. Read More

I ask my students which genre they like the most. Then I ask them which artist they admire and what they want to achieve in music. Once I know how passionate and committed my student is I set realistic goals and create the lesson. For every student I have a notice book so that I can write down what we did in each lesson and to see how they are growing and developing. Read More

I am an inspiring and highly motivated teaching artist, who takes great joy in sharing my love of music with everyone. I received my Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education- Jazz Voice from Temple University in Philadelphia. Throughout my time at Temple University, I had the opportunity to perform at The Academy of Music in Philadelphia and at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC. I have been teaching, directing and performing for over 15 years. Read More

I'm a passionate instructor who loves working with students. I recently graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a Masters degree in Classical Voice. I'm also a Singer-Songwriter and love singing varied styles like Pop, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Opera! I've even conducted choirs, worked with bands and produced shows. I've performed in various venues around the city and have even been reviewed by Metropolitan Opera's Opera News -" commanded the plot with lovely sound and subtle charm. "….. Read More

I make it a point to ask all students (or parents for my younger ones) to purchase a notepad where assignments, expectations, exercises, tips/tricks can be written down to help them progress during the year and into the following week of lessons. My favorite aspect about teaching is pushing students beyond the limit they place for themselves. That being said there must be a mutual understanding that I will do all I can to help students get over a "learning hump" as I call it- I have access to a plethora of journals, articles, teaching websites, a personal library, all of these materials can be scanned, printed out, emailed and whatnot for the benefit of my students. I was educated in a very classical stylewithstandard exercises and methods,so the roots of my private lessons began there, as well.Currently I employ a more fluid method, based solely on my experience with an individual. This came from two places, really. One: My love of improvisation and having fun, musically and Two: My tenure as a high school music teacher for emotionally disturbed students. There, I really learned to assess the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of each musician. Read More

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students engaged and developing a passion for singing and music. It's important to set real and specific goals so the progress can be noticeable, working at each students pace. I find encouragement and acknowledgment of accomplishments is essential when I teach. It's all about connecting and finding out what inspires the student so I can tailor the lesson to their wants and needs. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
