I teach classical technique that can be applied to any type or genreof music. I usually start with standard singing and breathing techniques. Then I will listen to a student's voice and determine their range and pick out a solo song based on their range, ability level, and the preferences of the student. Jake has been playing guitar and percussion for over 20 years. He teaches all levels of guitar and congas, as well as beginning piano, voice and drum set. He went to Berkeley High School where he played guitar in the BHS Jazz Ensemble. He then attended the New School in New York City, majoring in jazz guitar studies. He has studied jazz guitar with Steve Erquiaga, Dave Creamer and Jack Wilkins, and congas with Josh Jones, Sandy Perez and other Cuban percussionists. Read More

I have performed roles in Postcard from Morocco and Orpheus in the Underworld with the SJSU Opera Theater. My solo works include the Fauré and Brahms Requiem, both with San Jose Staté University. In the summer of 2015, I appeared with the Symphony Silicon Valley in R.V. William’s Serenade to Music and in 2016 I performed Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with the Ireland Limerick Sinfonia.
