I am an encouraging teacher, but I help my students set realistic goals (and stretch goals!) that keep them motivated to progress in their musicianship. How our lessons progress really depends on the student in question. If they would like to pursue competitions, I am well equipped to help. On the other hand, even very simple goals, when pursued with love, almost always provide a bedrock of UNIVERSAL musical information, no matter what form the goal might take. While you may have 1 main coach, many Vocalist find the best way to not plateau in their development is to work with several coaches to keep improving.   As a teacher I am not afraid to challenge students. They need to be challenged. They welcome challenges. The bigger the challenge, the greater the rewards in self-esteem and confidence are when they perform a difficult piece of music they thought they would never be able to play.
