While I aim to help students become their best, I ultimately want them to have fun above all else. I believe progress looks different for everyone, and I am very patient and happy to go over something more than once. Learning an instrument is more of a marathon than a sprint in my eyes, and I hope to guide each student on their own musical path. Lessons can range anywhere from simply learning about the instrument itself, going over foundational music theory(notes,chords,scales,intervals, and so on), learning site reading and tablature and the benefits of both. My teaching experience started in college as I taught group music classes in outreach programs and in internships. I now teach as young as preschool up to 8th grade on a regular basis. But, I also have experience teaching adults and high school students through directing adult church choirs and teaching private lessons prior to my current position. At the same time I was learning percussion and drums in grade school. Two years later, I started singing and piano lessons from my musical mentor and friend Margery Heinz. I started my musical studies at a summer workshop coarse athe the University of Southern California where I studied Jazz performance. Then I attended a local community college in New England where I received my certificate of music and from there I went on to  the University of Massachusettes where I received my associates of music education degree.
