I teach always. I teach by example, and I teach formally. My formal teaching background begins in church when I was 19. I did my mom a favor and started teaching/leading the children's choir. It was fun, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and our 2 performances went GREAT! It gave me a taste for it so I became an actual teacher in the SMCISD school district as a Focus Teacher (Special Education). My teaching experience, on the individual and private level, goes back to my college days where I would tutor other students in piano to pass their keyboard barriers. While in the active duty military (I'm retired now), I provided private lessons to children and adults in my available time. It is important to remember that a student's individual practice time is invaluable; the lesson time is NOT supposed to be the first time to be reviewing an assigned piece! Read More

I believe in age appropriate techniques and repertoire, and use both warm-ups and vocalises, along with accessible repertoire to foster technique and give students the tools they need to think through a song on their own. Even my belter students are still asked to sing in their head voice for vocal health and balance. Read More

It is important to me that I provide a warm, comfortable environment for all my students. I strive to meet the student where they are, set goals, and make plans to achieve them. Voice in particular is a difficult thing to learn, since the mechanisms are internal and difficult to see as well as hard to control directly. That is why many teachers speak through visualization and analogy. I make every effort to explain the science behind the singing process, but I also use a variety of teaching approaches that have proven to be effective. Read More

Students must feel confident in their own skills so they, in turn, can be self- sufficient in any field from music to public speaking. Lessons are a place of learning, experimentation, and growth. It can also be a place of excitement and enjoyment. The student and teacher must work together in a cohesive atmosphere always aiming for their main goals. As a teacher I have, and will continue to learn from my students, give them the knowledge that I can to help them to be their best selves. Read More

My method is simple , edgy and creative the approach is extremely understandable and fun as long as the student continues to set personal time for self practice the sky is the limit I personally take student on stage to perform with my band when I feel and see they are ready they learn many original songs that I have written and help them find their confidence on stage we will work on stage presence, showmanship and most of all working in a top notch rock n roll band there is a lot of involvement when comes to performing and entertaining an audience this is a bit more than recital or playing your favorite cover song htere's alot of creativity that goes on with my methods.
