For beginners, I typically start students off with the suzuki books to build technique, but I teach them from the classical perspective rather than the suzuki method. With intermediate and advanced students, i will introduce solo repertoire appropriate for recital performance and/or a commercial piece (fiddle tunes, pop songs, etc) that the student is interested in learning. Under these teachers I've been fortunate to travel all over the country playing violin, one such location being Carnegie Hall for the crescendo competition. In recent years, I am currently now at Lipscomb University where I'm studying Biochemistry and Music. At Lipscomb, I continued to develop my music education but in a different fashion.
