Instruments: Violin Mandolin Electric Violin Fiddle

I trained classically for almost six years, and then branced out to old-time, celtic, and bluegrass fiddling. I performed in, and won, several fiddle contests throughout high school, but then discovered jazz and improvisation, and found my true calling.   I have performed with a wide variety of groups, from traditional bluegrass to country-punk, from folky singer-songwriters to a hip-hop group, and love nothing more then creativly interacting with others, adding my own voice to whatever else is going on. Instruments: Violin Viola Fiddle

I am a violinist and fiddler based in Echo Park, and have been teaching privately as well as in public schools and music camps for about eight years. In 2013 I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Ethnomusicology, and have since been writing, recording and performing with several ensembles in a variety of genres. I have won competitions as a solo fiddler, in bluegrass ensembles, and with bands performing original compositions. Read More

Instruments: Violin Electric Violin Fiddle Music

I began teaching lessons 4 years ago when I decided to set foot on my career path of choice. I knew teaching violin would always become my career but didn't know quite how I would get there, and here I am 4 years later still pursuing it every day more passionately and purposefully than I have before. I started with posting substitute or private lessons online and got so many great job offers, and from then on I have advertised in schools and local music studios to bring in more clients. Instruments: Piano Violin Viola Trumpet Recorder Fiddle

I like to start out beginning string students with Essential Elements 2000 by the Hal Leonard company. They have a complete system which includes professionally recorded accompaniments which provide a model for the student to hear how to play with good intonation, tone and rhythm which are the most important basics. In addition I recommend other sheet music with piano accompaniment or books with CD accompaniments that can be performed for friends and family. Read More

Instruments: Piano Violin

For beginner piano students I use Alfred's books, which has different beginner levels for different ages. At first I perform my first lesson, where I decide which beginner book will much with the student, then I recommend an appropriate book for them. I also don't mind at all another company of books if they prefer so. For beginner violin students I recommend String builder or Essential elements books. They both are good skill building books. Instruments: Violin

I began teaching violin at age 15 to young beginners and also developed a small studio class while I was in high school. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching children "the basics" of the instrument and the fun of making music. Over the next several years and through college I would begin accepting advanced students, until my studio class had reached a level that could compete with the likes of Southern California's best young violinists.
