I teach both the Classical and Suzuki methods. I have students of all ages so it varies which student is learning which method. The best for children is the Suzuki method that is widely used in the USA. Classical methods can be used when I teach young adults and adults. It is pretty flexible though and I sometimes teach younger children the classical method. I like challenges and I often have children and older students that express different tempers. Read More

So many students are encouraged to learn before they really have their own grasp of what music is to them. Getting in touch with the inner musician is important early on to allow development of the passion over time. It is very important to me to make music fun while also emphasizing it's rewards. I love to see students grow and I love to encourage whatever path that it follows. Read More

Once I was accepted into the UCF program under David Bjella, I gained access to a variety of electives on music education on top of my required coursework, which I quickly signed up for to further my playing and teaching abilities. I even went so far as to create The Central Florida Cello Association, a student run organization which funded masterclasses and outside performing opportunities for the UCF cello studio! Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my when I began high school, as I began teaching private lessons part-time on the side about 8 years ago, at music camps, and have been consistently teaching students in their homes, my home, or over zoom. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points that I like to preach to my younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. For adults, I would still use Essential Elements because it does help with reading music, basic violin technique, bow hold, etc. Suzuki is a must because Suzuki is the best! I learned all of the books, and Suzuki's learning methods helps so much! As time progresses, solo repertoire will be introduced and the student will begin learning from Wohlfahrt etude book. Remember, with anything great it takes time. Practice makes PROGRESS! Read More

Teaching music is much different than any other subject that is offered especially private lessons. My goal is to help every one of my students find passion in not only music but their lives! Every student gets their own goals and individualized lesson plans with a scope and sequence crafted specifically to help attack what they require the most instruction on. This way each student has realistic goals and milestones that pushes their abilities but is still achievable. Read More

For any student, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements series. This method book will help teach the basic fundamentals needed to progress on the instrument. For children, I will continue through the method book series while supplementing it with short popular pieces that may be of interest to the student. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep it fun and enjoyable. Read More
