As a violist and violinist I grew up through Suzuki pedagogy and the Barbara Barber books. For beginning students who are young I typically start them using Suzuki also. Once they have progressed and have an understanding for the instrument I will begin to introduce extra pieces outside the Suzuki books that are appropriate for recitals and competitions. I specialize in starting very young children on the violin, as young as age 2, although depending on the child starting between ages 3-6 is ideal. I began my musical education with violin at age five and then with viola at ten. I went to Yewon Arts Middle School and Seoul Arts High School with viola. I won the Music Journal Competition and held my winner recital in Seoul, South Korea at age sixteen.
