Instruments: Trumpet Bass Guitar Double Bass

I'm a professional musician who loves sharing with people my love of music. In 2018, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor Degree honored Cum Laude in Music Performance. I played a lot in Europe and United States and I'd love to share my experiences with my student to let them grow as musicians. I had the pleasure to study with great musicians and mentors as Tiger Okoshi, Lin Biviano, Andrea Tofanelli, James Genus, John Lockwood, Neal Smith and many others; plus occasionally lessons with John Patitucci, John Clayton, Victor Wooten and masterclass with Ron Carter, Rufus Reed, Christian McBride and many others. Instruments: Piano Trumpet

I have been a professional teacher and musician for 30 years. As a young man I traveled all around the world on cruise ships playing shows. Then, I aggressively pursued a free-lance career as a jazz trumpeter in New York City. I have always taught private lessons and I enjoy the challenge of reaching the student to inspire them to improve. Hopefully it will be fun as well. I have a proven method for teaching beginning piano students and I have extensive experience teaching the trumpet as well. Read More

Immediately I'd like to know why the student is pursuing the given instrument, then sort of gauge a level of passion, drive, talent, etc. and then work from there. With guitar and piano there are several routes one could choose for performance, and each one has different teaching fundamentals. Someone who gravitates more toward Jazz will need a very strong base in musical theory, where as someone who wants to play classical might need stronger technical work. Read More

My musical background began when at 7 yrs. old I was playing the piano with my mothers instruction. I became a self taught student in brass and piano and later was accepted as a Music major to West Chester University. During HS I became known as a trumpet soloist in Regional and State Bands and in the Salvation Army brass program a cornet soloist. I've taught in public and private schools as an instrumental music teacher and later had my own studio of 50 students. Read More

Instruments: Trumpet Saxophone

I love teaching music and working with students. I started playing saxophone in the fourth grade and had a passion for music. While at the University of Delaware, I played with the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensembles, and Marching Band. I also created my own jazz combo called "Tree". I had the opportunity to play with jazz legends, such as Buster Williams, Todd Groves, Larry McKenna, Dave Schiff, and Matt Harris. Read More

Effective music education is both developmentally and culturally appropriate: By working with the student to understand their interests, I hope to provide them with an experience that will enrich their musical and social life outside of the work we do together. Through infancy, I believe Music Learning Theory is effective for developing musical and linguistic skills. If a student in toddlerhood/childhood shows that they have a preferred way to express themselves musically, I will tailor lessons around the Kodaly (voice), Orff (instrumental), or Dalcroze (dance) philosophies. Instruments: Piano Trumpet Trombone French Horn Tuba

I believe that my style is really flexible. I think that everybody has a different way to learn so my style will vary based on the student. I also believe that the role of the teacher should the one of facilitating the student process but ultimately is the student who should dictate the style and the pace of the lesson. I believe also that listening is a really important part of music learning so I have my student listening to a lot of different music and also I play with them all the time so that they can hear and feel what is it to play together. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
