I have been teaching trumpet lessons for a decade, to students of all ages, and I also now teach beginning piano and trombone. I have also served as a Teaching Assistant in the Harvard Music Department. While I originally come from classical training and have the ability to deal with classical repertoire, I think there is much to be gained from trying to find and learn about the music that students love and connect to, be it Chopin, the Beatles, movie soundtracks, or Sara Bareilles. I began teaching starting in my undergrad, where I would teach weekly one-on-one, or group lessons to trumpet players in rural Indiana. Here, I found that I had a deep passion for teaching music, and that I would want to pursue it more. Now, as I'm pursuing my Master's Degree at the Manhattan School of Music, I am teaching young students privately, as well as in group lessons.
