It is a very special experience to be able to see a student progress. Depending on the frequency of the lessons, I will set goals for the student to reach by the time the next lesson occurs. I always make the goals realistic for the student and I try my best to make the goal something that the student will enjoy. This will also help them to practice more frequently and work harder towards reaching this goal. Read More

My teaching style is heavily student focused: By listening to my student's voice and choice, I want to work together to create musical goals for them that we can develop as we progress. While I believe in creating a learning environment focused on intrinsic motivation, I hope my positive attitude and love for music can serve as a source of inspiration for my students! The most important aspect of any lesson is the joy that we bring to it, which is crucial to us developing musical skills and beautiful music. Read More

I am a trumpet player, composer and educator. I grew up in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston, MA in 2012 where I attended Berklee College of Music for my undergraduate and graduate studies. I believe that music is a great tool for communicating to each other even past language and cultural barrier. My goal as teacher is to enable each students personal talent and guide them through knowing an instrument so that they can access that communication and the endless possibilities that come with it. My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great. I usually use either the Alfred or Rubank method books to supplement a curriculum that I tailor make for each individual student. Read More

For beginning students, I start with Accent on Achievement, book one. Once the student has gotten a grasp of the fundamentals, I then introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for the student. I will always reference the method book if students are having trouble with a certain technique. For beginning jazz students, I start with the Greg Fishman Jazz books. Once students have mastered this book, I then switch to the omnibook and real book and allow students to learn and try to improvise a solo. Read More
