I use Rubank methoh books for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. I will introduce material from the Arbans method when students have reached a desired level. In addition, I'll find material in the genre that is exciting to the student but also develops their skills and techniques on the instrument. I create individual lessons and goals for each student based what needs to be improved, and what inspires them to practice and get better I am a strong believer in proper techniques, and that they can be obtained simulataneously while studying many genres of music. I began teaching trumpet lessons while I was in high school. I kept a small studio through college, and currently have several students. I also have taught workshops and masterclasses around the country. In 2018, I taught a beginning music class through the Morse Fellowship program at Juilliard. I have found in my time teaching that everyone learns differently. After the first couple of lessons, I will set goals with the student, and their parent (if the student is a child.) Being able to acknowledge that a goal has been met allows the student to have a desire to continue with the instrument they are learning. Passing goals and allows the student eager to learn.
