I am a musician offering teachings on Trombone and Trumpet. I have a bachelors in Jazz Studies from the University of Michigan and currently freelance in NYC/Asia. Experience -Playing in groups of all genres (Jazz/Salsa/Classical/Funk/NeoSoul).-Teaching Private Students-Touring the USA and Asia-Holding workshops with beginner playersStrengths would be improvisation and meditation. How to play in the moment and be honest with ones self. Creating a good tone/sound to express yourself. Jazz theory and jazz phrasing/language. Along with basic technique.I can offer lessons at my place in downtown Manhattan or meet at a studio/students place. All levels welcome, I take this job seriously and promise to be prepared for every lesson. Students must commit to practicing everyday since there is no shortcuts in music.

I enjoy teaching techniques on how to play the brass instruments, improvisation. jazz theory, sight reading. I encourage regular practice with an upbeat attitude which makes students excited to play and take lessons every week.
Begining Students I work on creating a nice tone and understanding of instrument as a whole. I use standard of excellence training books and move on depending on students willingness and skill. Teach Jazz Improv to all levels. Concentrate on jazz vocabulary, expression, style, and creating in the moment. Also teach meditation which leads to better practice and healthier living. I focus on the use of air over buzzing which improves range and technique vastly. I also enjoy playing duets with students to get them comftorable playing with others.
Teaching is a joy. The music is a gift and it is a blessing to share it with others. I enjoy seeing students learn and pick up music right in front of my eyes. Teaching is a learning experience for myself as well. I enjoy working with others and use my skills/experience to inspire others. I push students hard but also give rewards and bring a feeling of fun into lessons since music is supposed to be enjoyable. Im not afraid to go off book and cater my styles to each student individually.
