Hello! I'm a singer, songwriter, and music teacher from Brooklyn, NY. I have a formal musical education, with a degree in composition from Purchase College, (Regina Spektor also graduated from this program!), 6 years of experience as a solo performer, and worked extensively in recent years on writing songs, and releasing recordings (my producer plays keys for Ingrid Michaelson!) My teaching style is very "go with the flow." Each day is a new opportunity to learn a little more about music and your chosen instrument. Each lesson is a time where we can delve deeply into one piece of music, or jump around to several different topics. Of course, there is always room for structure and I make sure that we stay on track! There are so many different aspects of each instrument to cover, but there no need to get bogged down with complicated acronyms and over complex methodology. Read More

I've had over 20 years of teaching experience in guitar for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students, 13 years of teaching experience in piano for beginners and intermediate students, and 7 years of teaching experience in Bass guitar for beginner students.  I demonstrate technique of performing, lend tips on how to correct mistakes, and show how to further their experience while developing his or her own style.  I'm very encouraging, always emphasizing a positive and productive approach to learning. I like to start with learning the Pentatonic scale in it's 1st position and show how it can be played in 5 positions based on the components of the scale being built on 5 notes, or intervals. We'll look at the C major/A minor scales on every string to show where all of the natural notes are on the individual strings and then expand upon playing them in modes, and move on to another key to show how these scale patterns are inter related with all 12 keys followed by learning the chord shapes in open and closed positions and how and where to utilize them in songs or in a blues/jazz sensibility. I am a New York City based songwriter, artist, arranger, producer, and educator, most often occupying the space between R&B and Jazz. My music is influenced by artists ranging from Stevie Wonder to Erykah Badu to John Coltrane. I went to Boston in 2015 to study Musical Theatre at the Boston Conservatory. There, I began songwriting and discovered a new passion leading me to change course in my education and continue my studies at Berklee College of Music in 2017. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, continued throughout my college experience, and is my current part time job at numerous music schools. I use a combination of determining where the student is currently at, areas the student wants to to improve, and my own profession assessment of where a great place for the student to begin would be in our lessons. Every student learns differently, so that's why he adapts to all situations and ensures his students are given the tools and knowledge they need in order to reach their full musical potential. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
