From there on out, I use Breeze Easy Trumpet Method, Arban, Clarke, Irons, Bai Lin, Caruso, and Stamp to develop fundamental technique, based on what I think each student needs. Setting realistic goals is the best way to approach teaching private lessons. Being that I will only see a student, on average once a week, I tend to be honest and realistic about expectations and goals. I like set goals that are somewhat challenging but very attainable through motivation and fun.
