My teaching experience dates back to my undergrad days, where I began teaching private lessons about 7 years ago. This includes a combination of classical and jazz music to help the students enjoy what they are doing and stay motivated. Read More

I began teaching private lesson upon graduating high school in 1988 with a focus on the development of the "lead player". Over the years I have helped many trumpet players establish their upper register with a balance of power and flexibility. At the same time I have maintained the focus on proper tone and projection that is appropriate for the style being played. It is important for students to be able to perform equally as proficiently in a variety of styles. Read More

"Making music", on the other hand, can be done by anyone at any skill level and is lots of fun. The goal of practicing the trumpet is to become so familiar with the instrument that it becomes an extension of our body and mind, as effortless and automatic to perform as breathing or walking.
