For any new student, I believe the starting point must be why they are choosing to learn the guitar, or what excites them about trying to play. If a student wants to learn to strum chords to folk songs, than that's where we'll start, incorporating along the way the proper finger and hand techniques, as well as the appropriate level of theory knowledge needed to make the guitar an accesible system. My teaching experience is varied and puts the student's needs first. I have taught privately for the last 7 or 8 years, and can proudly say that every one of my students has learned a great deal. Providing consistent support and a positive attitude is my goal for every lesson, and I take the concerns of each student with the utmost sincerity. Having taught in both private and group environments, I have developed an ability to quickly convey important information in a way that every student will comprehend. Read More

My love of teaching became stronger than ever after I recovered from a vocal disorder that changed my life. Everything I learned from that experience encouraged me to spread awarness of vocal health. I love teaching people new things especially those interested in music. Sharing what I know from life experiences and music therapy hands on observations is not only rewarding but continues to help me to grow. As for teaching experience, I have given lessons to non-music majors while in school and also taught music while studying abroad in Jamaica.. Read More

I am very passionate and love teaching and sharing my knowledge of music. After graduating college in 2011, I started to teach full-time and during this time I learned so much on how to go about teaching people of all ages and different musical backgrounds. I taught in various music stores, I later started my online teachings. I later moved to Philadelphia from Alabama, since I've been here I've started online teaching and playing music gigs with various bands. Read More

Each student approaches music differently, and I tailor my teaching to fit that approach. I will ask a student what they're aiming to accomplish, then set short and long term goals in order to acheive them. I believe a strong technical foundation leads to freer ease of artistic expression. My students recieve a wholistic approach to music on whatever instrument of their choice. Read More

For beginning students, I normally start with Alfred's Drum Method. This book works on the fundamentals of reading snare drum music and basic technique. Once the students grasps the basics on reading and playing with a metronome then we tend to move to Tommy Igoe's Groove Essentials (while still working on the Alfred's Method). After the student has began to play with the audio tracks and have succesfully gone through a few lessons from Groove Essentials then we begin to work on some solo repertoire and personal favorites as well. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
