I believe that students need to be taught to teach themselves. As a teacher, my role is to guide the student toward realizations with appropriate materials and information. However, the most beneficial learning occurs when the students feels they were an active participant in the discovery(ah-ha! moments). I can give students the answers, but I tend to use more leading questions to get them to figure out the solution on their own. Read More

Working with students and sharing my love of music is my passion and is what motivates me as an instructor. In 2017, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a dual Bachelor's Degree in Performance and Contemporary Writing in Production. Throughout my life as a musician I have enjoyed opportunities performing all over the world, at venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC, along with touring Chile, Spain, Canada, Dominican Republic, and Panama with the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. I have spent the past three years living in Miami where I completed my Masters Degree in music education. During this time I was an active trumpet player in south Florida playing with orchestras, brass bands, jazz groups, and quite regularly latin bands due to the popularity of salsa/latin styles in that region. My Bachelors degree was completed in 2006 at the Univeristy of Delware.
