I received my Bachelor's in Jazz Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2006. Since then I performed with Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band, and my own hip-hop/soul band The Urban Sophisticates. I've worked with Ellis Marsalis, Talib Kweli, Arrested Development, Byron Stripling, Fred Wesley, Delfeayo Marsalis, Wallace Roney, Jimmy Cobb, and Robin Eubanks. I am very fortunate to have studied privately with many great teachers with varied teaching styles and philosophies which has helped me become a well-rounded educator.  I have also had the orpportunity to perform with numerous ensembles throughout the United States and around the world. I have taught private students at the beginning, intermediate, and college level as well as coached brass students at several middle schools and high schools throughout southern California, and I currently maintain a private teaching studio. I live in South Pasadena, however during the school year I live in Pomona where I attend university at Cal Poly Pomona where I major in Tuba Performance. I attended the LA County High School for the Art for three years, through which time I became serious about learning music. I went on to earn the Bob Cole Conservatory Scholarship at CalState Long Beach. My favorite courses were Brass Chamber Music and my various music history courses.
