It starts out very simple so students of all ages can learn and progress very quickly. I always start with a warm up, followed by scale studies. From there we move to etudes, and solos or concerti, and end with excerpts from books like the Mueller technical study or Arban book. For more advanced students and jazz players, I like to start with a warm up, scale study, learn tunes and the blues, big band charts, and end with listening and transcriptions. Use all major method and etude books. Have a large library of rare etude books on PDF as well as my own exercises I've written out. Example trumpet books for intermediate student: Arban Clarke Sachs Schlossberg Stamp Charlier Vizzutti Bai Lin Irons etc I encourage students to find music they would like to play, even if they aren't able to play immediately.
