I've been teaching private lessons for 2 years; first starting with a few students from the college. Recently have sung with RICCO (performing works such as Carmina Burana). I have been in many shows, such as Into the Woods (Cinderella's Prince), Brundebar (the baker), HMS Pinafore (Captain Cochran), and Gatsby (Nick Carraway). Teaching for me means to be constantly creative and flexible about gauging expectations and output, adjusting methods according to the students' ability to respond, and discovering new paths that are often dictated by the students themselves. I try to remain open-minded about the ways that musical goals can be achieved, rather than getting locked up in a routine that might have been successful before.
