Primarily, one must produce a high-quality sound out of the instrument. I use the widely-regarded Liebman method to help students produce a great sound out of the horn. Beginners and advanced students alike will focus on improving their sound while studying with me. I also relate everything back to the student's goals and their current skill level. I consider myself a laid back teacher who still has solid expectations. I understand that each student's feasible time commitment may be different and I would like to honor that. With that said, I expect my students to put time into their music, because that is the only way to make progress and to maximize their ultimate enjoyment of playing an instrument. I am an immensely passionate and dedicated musician who loves sharing the joy of music with others. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2018 with a Dual Degree in Jazz Composition and Saxophone Performance. I play sax, guitar, and compose most of the music for my original prog fusion group, LON, with whom I have performed all over New England, as well as playing over 100 gigs a year with various groups, ranging from wedding bands, original projects, and jazz bands. After graduating from Temple University, in 2017 I performed at the North American Saxophone Alliance Conference at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA; the New England Saxophone Symposium at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; as well as a solo and chamber music recital at Smith College in Northampton, MA. My methods first focus on self discipline through inspiration and time efficient practice routines. I have found through empirical evidence that a student can learn more in 20 minutes with focused and disciplined practice than they might in 3 hours of unfocused practice.
