I've been teaching since the end of high school, when my saxophone teachers enlisted me to help give lessons to some of the younger students in their own after school jazz programs. Since moving to New York I've taught lessons privately from my home studio and traveling to students homes, as well as teaching group lessons in several after-school programs in the Bronx. There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of teaching music, and I get a special joy from seeing my students grow and progress. Read More

I have taught all kinds of topics to all kinds of students and like to accomodate the particular interests of different students. I often find that students should set performance goals even if it is just a performance for friends and family. This helps establish workable milestones in the student's progress. I also like students to help model their own education by studying repertoire that interests them. Read More

I always want to help my students understand the basics of music and universal principles that can apply to any music they are interested in learning. Whether it's jazz, pop, classical, blues, most styles of music share these principles in common and are best played when the musician can understand the underlying structures. Rather than having students memorize one piece that they'll forget as soon as they move onto the next, I want my students to have the skills to play any music they like any time by helping them develop their ear. The methods that I would typically use are the Arbans complete Conservatory method for trumpet and Cornet. Schlossberg´s Daily Drills and Studies, Clarkes method and Caruso. I have been studying these four methods quite some time now and understand not only the instruction on the page but the purpose of the excercise itself. So for each student and level a unique methodology would be put together. It is very important to point out that I studied these methods with masters such as Victor Paz. Read More

I began teaching privately in high school- mainly teaching my younger fellow students. During college I taught at two private lesson studios in New Jersey. I expanded the instruments I offered there, and met students young and old, and over time, I learned how different people of different ages and backgrounds learned and understood music. I now currently teach both privately and at a private studio in Queens. My teaching method is highly evolved, tuning into the personality and capabilities of each student, reacting lesson by lesson to offer material and methods that will be most helpful to them. I began teaching about in high school about 8 years ago, and have loved watching my students surpass their goals and develop their own passion for music. For me, inspiring students to develop productive practice habits and routines is one of the most essential beginning steps, especially for younger students. My students have ranged from young first time players, to older players who are serious about getting their playing to the next level. Read More
