Instruments: Piano

I am an outstanding classical piano teacher with a vast teaching experience. I also play organ in church. I have been blessed with amazing students and I believe that anyone can learn to play an instrument even with serious medical disabilities. I have studied conducting, carillon and am an active vocal accompanist. I love keyboard skills such as sight-reading, transposition, orchestral score reading, figured bass, lead sheet and improvisation. I am proud of the fact that I passed the initial exam to serve in the USAF. Read More

Instruments: Guitar Classical Guitar Acoustic Guitar

The guitar has a poor reputation as a serious instrument, when it fact it is quite difficult, even physically un-natural to play. Bad habits can not only set you back, but take a great deal of time and effort to un-do, and can even cause physical pain or damage. I can't understate the importance of selecting a guitar teacher who has extensive experience with physical technique, and how it can free the guitarist from sluggish learning, frustration and most musical limits in their playing. Instruments: Drums

I have worked for School Of Rock and have assisted in teaching special needs kids and adults at FREE, which has become nationally recognized as having the first special needs drum line. I have loved teaching since the day I started. It is a very rewarding experience and i make sure that all of my students have fun by having them choose songs to learn from their favorite bands and artists. Read More

Instruments: Bass Guitar Double Bass

I usually tend to focus on technique and posture when I'm dealing with a beginner. I'll get to introduce them the instrument itself and make them familiarize with the fretboard (with a special focus on bow and shifts when it comes to upright bass). Rudiments of ear training and harmony will follow as the students progress with their favorite tunes, etudes or a general introduction to styles (depending on the student's temper and instrument). Instruments: Drums Mallet Percussion Orchestral Percussion Djembe

For beginners I usually begin with Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone and Fundamental Studies for Snare Drum by Garwood Whaley. Once the student has a good grasp on basic reading and technique, I usually introduce rudiments and start working on solo or play along repertoire. I also like to use The Drum Set Musician by Rod Morgenstein. Besides book work I also like to bring in things that I am working on either with bands I play with or personal projects. Read More

Instruments: Guitar Acoustic Guitar

My teaching style is to set a weekly goal for each student, in terms of music learning. It can be one or two songs per week, but the goal is to first learn all the necessary chords, then to learn the rhythm or the song and lastly to learn how to sing the song if they want to. The brain needs time and repeated training to be able to assimilate and learn that, and after each of these three parts are practiced separately then they start to be done together, and then it starts getting into an automatic's mode. Instruments: Saxophone Flute

I have been teaching saxophone lessons ever since I was 15 years old, when I used to mentor other students who were just starting to play. I am comfortable teaching all ages, and have had students in the past ranging from ages 6 to 50. Teaching is a great joy for me; some of my proudest moments have been at student recitals, watching young musicians play! I have found that the best way to inspire students to improve is by giving them performance opportunities and long term goals to strive for. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
