My music teaching experience began over fifteen years ago when my first student was recommended to me by my high school music director to teach a younger student privately. Since then, I have taught people of all ages drums, guitar, ukulele, piano, world percussion, and even some violin. I believe nothing is more rewarding than having a relationship to music, and teaching music has given me the opportunity to share the joy of music with others. Read More

I find it really rewarding to see a student find a passion for music. Its my main goal and priority to make sure that my students are happy learning the guitar instead of it feeling like a chore. In order to keep the lesson fun and productive I split the lesson up so that half the time we are going over the scales and chords, and the other half we are playing and improvising using what we went over. I studied guitar with international performing artist Anna Maria Rosado and composition with American composer Annette Le Siege. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Guitar Performance from New Jersey City University. I have performed extensively in small venues throughout Vermont, and was a house musician for several seasons at the Yosemite Theater in Yosemite National Park, California. I have been teaching for over 30 years. Most of my students describe me as fun and patient. Read More

I have been steadily teaching private lessons since I was at Berklee, nearly 10 years ago. I almost always have taught lessons at my own studio where students come to me because that always seems to be the most conducive environment for learning and getting inspired. I've taught complete beginners at the toddler age, and even retired people in their 70s. I enjoy teaching because each student has different needs, different interests, and most importantly digest and internalize new information differently. Read More

For me, that created a lot of boredom and disinterest at times, so I just can't really think of any good reason to avoid that way of doing things. The teacher is the one giving the service, and I personally believe that this specific type of service should be defined by the student and not curated by the teacher! I believe in short, consistent, daily practice times, but I think practice can be useless if it isn't done correctly. Read More

Ive been a private music teacher for 10 years. I've helped students reach their goals, either for a competition or for leisure. Over the years I've taught many students of different ages and backgrounds and I've learned to adapt my lesson plans to work for them. Everyone learns differently at different paces so I've developed the patience and perseverance that it takes to work hard with students and bring to light their potential. Read More

Guitar has a bit of a steep learning curve at first, so I work on the basics of forming a good sound and producing clean notes and chords. Once that's established, I try to inspire students by showing just how much music can be made with as little as three chords. I'll help students learn their favorite songs and use those as an avenue for learning more technique. The best way to learn is by doing something interesting, so I use drills to help reinforce the songs students actually want to learn how to play. Read More
