My teaching experience dates back to my college days. I have been teaching for over one year. I had one year intern in Westminster Conservatory and taught 7 students with varied ages. I also was an assistant of piano group class for one semester. Although I only teach for not a long time but I already have more than 20 students right now and i have very positive feedback. Over the past decade, I have performed with dozens of ensembles of varying styles from jazz orchestras to rock outfits to more off-kilter projects. I have also joined many profession groups on regional tours, as well asdtracked in studios as a session musician. For a beginning student on guitar, I have them learning notes from a Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, or Alfred starter book. All these books are great, but I believe it depends on the individual student and how they learn. I also teach tab to beginners. I feel it is important to read tabs these days as well as notes. I also work with music theory. It is also important to know what you are doing, not just putting your fingers on the strings. Read More
