My approach is both traditional and also contemporary.. I use standard method books that have been around for years. I don't like to generalize on one or two methods. Students will be able to choose repertoire and learn technique through the music they love. Students are encouraged to discuss the music that they are interested in, their goals, and interests. After a few months, I begin adding solo repertoire that is appropriate for age and ability. For middle school age students and adults, I start with Alfred's Basic Piano, Adult, Level 1.
