I typically start with the Piano Adventures series with my beginner students who are children. I also introduce songs they are familiar with alongside seasonal or festival music to make the lessons more engaging and boost their interest in learning. For intermediate students, I add materials such as exercises from Hanon or Czerny to develop stronger technique. I pair these with music by various composers so that, while building the foundation of piano playing, my students explore different styles of music. Read More

In August of 2007 I started my first term of college at Castleton University located in Castleton, VT. There I became an established pianist all around Vermont in local churches, schools, bands and as an accompanist to my fellow students at Castleton University. I graduated in 2011 celebrating the completion with my parents and fellow students. The same year that I graduated from Castleton I met my husband Shawn and after spending a couple years in Vermont we were fortunate to move down to RI where he and I found good jobs, got married and last but not least adopted our beloved dog Cooper. For beginning students who are children, I often use the Andrew Scott Method for flute. When the student is considerably advance I will use the Rubank Book for flute begginers. Once the student is at a comfortable level, I will proceed to introduce him to Body Mapping. For beginners, especially young kids, I would like to focus more on the gestures and basic theory which serves your score reading. For intermediate students, I would teach a bit more in-depth theory to correspond the levels of playing, as well as memorising pieces. For advanced students, a more professional training such as advanced theory, college-level basic sight reading and singing, and relatively difficult repertoire will be given.
