Instruments: Piano Saxophone
For beginning students on piano, I typically start with Piano Adventures. For beginning students on saxophone, I typically start with fundamentals like Sound production with long tones, embouchure exercises, A Tune A Day by C. Paul Herfurth. Once the student as progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce repertoire across several genre of music as well appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My teaching style is best referred to as a facilitator. Essentially, I promote self-learning, helping students develop critical thinking skills and retain knowledge that leads to self-actualization. I prefer to guide students by letting them think for themselves, pointing out when mistakes are made but also encouraging them to learn and grow from them. The draw back from this is that it can be a bit time consuming, but I feel that at the end of the day, this helps a student so that eventually they will be able to learn by themselves without a teacher. Music has always been an important part of my life since I was a child. My parents exposed me to music at a very young age, so it was not a surprise that I chose music as my profession. I graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a BA in music, graduating with High Honors. Performance has been an integral part of my life, and I have given many solo recitals. Read More

I have been a passionate musician ever since I picked up the trombone in the 5th grade. That love of music has led me to pursue a degree in music education at Southern New Hampshire University. Music has been the driving force in my life and much of what I do revolves around music. I have dedicated much of my life to becoming a better musician and teacher and I look forward to extending my love of music to as many students as possible. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Drums Bass Guitar French Horn
I find that it drives the student to learn the instrument for himself. And as the student wants, more and more, to prove that he can "beat the instrument," he begins to work at it in ways that I can't teach. Learning an instrument is more than showing up for one hour each week. Practice is everything. I feel that my methodology encourages students to take on the instrument head on and learn how to solve problems on their own so that they can practice and improve more quickly. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet
My approach to teaching is centered around whether the student is having fun. My goal is never to force anyone to become a professional in our lessons. If you want to get to that level I can certainly help, but I am more concerned about having fun playing trumpet and piano. We will do a lot of listening homework as well, since listening is just as important as playing. A lot of my students so far really appreciate that balance and the break between playing their instruments. Read More
