I have been teaching privately for 11 years, and in public school for the last 7. I have played the violin for 20 years, and viola/cello/bass for the past 10. I have also played piano and sung for the last 12 years, and have performed in both solo and group settings on every instrument mentioned. I have sent off numerous students to major in music over the years, and have had many opportunities to play in professional orchestras, and taught at Settlement Music School for 3 year in Philadelphia. I meet each and every student at their own level, wherever that may be, and help them grow. The first lesson is often very relaxed and focused on the student's learning style. I will then start with one of the many beginner books that I feel will suit the student. Often that depends on the age, experience, and knowledge. I want the music to push the boundaries, but not too difficult. My students will focus on slow, steady, and consistent practice schedules. It tends to aid in the discipline required for music. Read More

In the past six years, I have taught privately at the School of Rock in Downingtown and Guitar center in Lancaster. I have also done some group lessons with a Lancaster based nonprofit called Music For Everyone. I try to challenge my students every week with sight reading and ear training methods. Besides from drum set, I have access to congas, djembe's, marimbas, vibraphones and many other percussion instruments, so my students can grow not just as a drum set player, but as a percussionist as well.
