For younger students, I typically start with showing them how to develop hand strength using a number of exercises. I then move on to scales, playing them in conjunction with 3rds and triads. Once the student has progressed I will begin to introduce chords and then connect the concepts using music theory. I believe that every student is unique, they develop at a different pace and different levels, have different ideas and pursue different goals. By working with a broad selection of methods I can better address the different needs and challenges of every student and provide them with an individual program to help them reach their goals faster.
