Throughout the years I have taught in person, online, have led flute choirs, and have been a clinician for woodwind sections for bands and orchestras. I like to keep my lessons fun. I realize that technique can be dull and dry at times but is a necessity in learning music. I like to mix technique with songs and styles of music the student is interested in so they get a full understanding of why technique is important and how it applies to songs and musical selections that are of interest to the student. After four years of daily warm ups and classical singing, I realized what it actually takes to have constant growth in your vocal abilities. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. You have to have a consistent schedule and habits that you set in place to perfect your craft. I learned that we are truly limitless, and there is nothing we can't do. My general course of action for students is to teach the essentials through the Faber book series. As well as learn songs and do theory/aural exercises from the Faber books, I like to use online music theory games for my students to practice skills like note identification. I also like to assign students songs outside from the Faber books that they know and love, to further fuel their passion for learning piano! Read More

I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy. Whether it’s finding music theory in Taylor Swift song, or learning the guitar neck through a Beatles solo, I always find a way to teach through interests that the students have rather than force a cookie cutter approach.
