I LOVE to see my students with a SMILE on their face when we together find possible solutions for any technical difficulties they encounter. The beauty and novelty of the solution that emerged in the process of solving complex tasks can bring an astounding joy of creativity. I am convinced that only a creative instructor can foster a creatively thinking student. Therefore, to prepare the student for self-creative activity, I must actively enrich knowledge and share my experience with students, update and design study material depending on intellectual and psychological aspects of students, be aware of their interests and individual traits so that in the future they can use the knowledge and skills to apply not only at school but also in life. For the beginner student I start with the essentials to reading music. Once the student has a understanding of rhythmic note values, I generally start with Alfred's Drum Method Book One or Elementary Drum Method by Roy Burns. I also start working snare drum rudiments and focus on issues like grip and wrist stroke to ensure correct technique. I use a range of different books and material for drumset, according to where the student's skill level and musical interest is. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I throughly enjoy making music. I started taking piano lessons when I was 5 years old and continued taking all the way through graduate school at TCU, where I graduated in 2016. Playing solo and collaborating with fellow musicians are still some of my favorite pass times. I enjoy playing all kinds of genres: Classical, pop, worship, Bossa Nova. Some of my most memorable experiences have been collaborative. From playing piano duets in grade school, singing in church choir, to accompanying in semi-professional competitions, like the Young Texas Artists Competition, I find performing with others is fun and exciting. Beginner: Learning the violin can be an adventure! From the first moment holding the violin, the student develops a natural way of holding the instrument and develops auditory skills that nurture a good musical foundation. Methods such as Suzuki as well as other traditional methods are used in an approach customized to each student. Intermediate: Once the student has a good foundation, the focus is on further developing a coordinated way of physically relating to the violin, developing critical listening skills, problem-solving, self-monitoring, building repertoire, growing an ability to express oneself on the violin, and learning to play with others in an ensemble. As a music educator, I facilitate a safe, welcoming environment for students to learn and attain their goals. My students grow their creative capabilities by exploring music that challenges them to become better musicians. I incorporate music that you want to play such as pop, classical, or music from various cultures while still going over the fundamentals of their instrument. I also encourage questions during lessons so that less mistakes are made during concerts and playing tests. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I have always been into drum education. Ever since I was little I would watch drum educational DVD's and also took drum lessons which helped me become an inspired musician. I know love to give back and teach all levels and styles of drumming. I graduated from The University Of the Arts with a bachelors degree in Music Business, and Technology. While attending the University Of the Arts I also took drum lessons with Rob Brosh, Marcus Meyers, and Jason Gianni. Read More

There are often good lessons that go along with these pieces, and I pick pieces that are famous for good reason! For students of any level, it is useful to have a combination of repertoire that is more challenging, and pushes my students to see beyond their current skill level, as well as repertoire that allows them to enjoy the expression that is possible with their current skill level. There are 4 components to every lesson, and for me, every practice sessions as well: warm up exercises, technical exercises, repertoire, and play (aka performing the repertoire, improvising, writing music, etc).
