I have been teaching music for over 18 years, primarily guitar. I have taught music for retail, private learning and performing arts centers. I have taught electric and acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, music theory, sight reading, scales and modes, and improvisation. I have also taught all styles of music including rock, jazz, blues, country, and classical. I have taught students from the ages of 5 up to 80 years old. I started teaching right after high school, helping at band camps and during the season. I started giving lessons soon after and in 2007 I was offered the oppurtunity to be the drumline instructor for a local high school. I would teach there until 2012. I wrote exercises, cadences, their show music, and taught them all the fundementals of marching and proper playing technique. As a professional musician, Blanche Marie has performed on flute and handbells as a soloist and in ensembles for featured concerts, worship services and pit orchestras. She provides music for weddings and special events on a regular basis. Blanche Marie has directed adult and children's vocal and instrumental ensembles in churches throughout the state of Florida. I have played with multiple orchestras community and semi-professional and community bands in Central Florida. I have also participated in WGI and DCI ensembles as a mallet or Synth or keyboard player. I studied classical voice for two years with Mark Baker former tenor for the Met Opera house. For adults, I would still use Essential Elements because it does help with reading music, basic violin technique, bow hold, etc. Suzuki is a must because Suzuki is the best! I learned all of the books, and Suzuki's learning methods helps so much! As time progresses, solo repertoire will be introduced and the student will begin learning from Wohlfahrt etude book.
