Beyond that, I introduce books according to their musical goals and needs. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. I began teaching guitar part time in late high school to just a few students. During college, I expanded my student base to include up to 30 students per week. I also have plenty of experience teaching group lessons of up to 25 children in both lesson and rehearsal formats. I prefer to teach my students using a jazz sensibilty applied all types of music. In 2015-2016 I worked at Archimedean Middle Conservatory in Miami, FL teaching 6-8th grade general music. All students learned drum rudiments and call and response techniques. I also ran an after-school drum program where students learned more complex rudiments, rhythms, and how to play as a group.
