I have been in the music business and teaching guitar for over ten years. I am equally qualified to teach children, adults and everyone in between! With over ten years of experience working in youth music programs I have learned a variety of games and fun activities that are particularly effective in engaging young learners. My main goal with children is to get them hooked on music so they'll turn it into a life long pursuit. I am a warm, sincere person and I enjoy developing a relationship with each one of my students. I am very patient yet I expect nothing less than excellence of myself and my students.
My teaching experience goes back to my early/mid-teens, when I used to secretly be asked to sub for my drum teacher at the music school I was attending. I had his students, all older than me! We had such a great time and I am very lucky to have had such great teachers myself. All along my professional career, I have always had private students from time to time. In later years, I came to appreciate teaching more, because I learn a lot from my students as well. I teach drums out of my home studio in Van Nuys, CA. It is a private studio space in a friendly environment. Here I have 2 drum sets I can play with. I have happy students and we work on all kinds of different things. One of my drum students didn't even know how to play when she started! And now she is playing along with a Led Zeppelin track like it's no one's business. This encourages me to keep going and we have a great time working parts and fills out. Other students come to me with a specific question in mind and might was to learn some new technique they've heard about. I can explain in the simplest way the best lesson to work on, for just about anything, for any level of student, from beginner to advanced.
I am a huge believer in making music fun. If it's not fun, it's not worth doing. Making music fun is a simple matter and once it becomes fun, kids want to practice and they want to get better and they want to join their school bands. I realized early on that I am a visual learner. I am a big advocate of not just teaching students verbally, but also being able to show them. The best teacher a student can get is themselves. Recording your sound is the best way to get better. The tape recorder is in every lesson so the student can immediately hear what is coming out of the other end of their instrument. Technology is making incredible strides and the music industry is no exception. There are incredible tools on iphones and ipads from tuners to metronomes to recording apps. I'm a fan of using these tools and teaching students how to get the most out of them.
I teach music to students who want to learn music. I can teach different styles of music, including classical and popular. Sight reading and ear training are very important elements that I also teach. However, if students only wish to learn one type of music, I will honor their preference. My training includes a BA degree in Music, and a MA degree in Administration.
Hello My name is Evan J. I have been playing, and studying music for 15 years. I enjoy teaching and sharing the knowledge of music with others. I am currently teaching 20 individual students a week. My main goal is to share the amazing art of music, by showing all my students how to learn and study great bands,. I am advanced in music theory, ear training, right hand and left hand techniques, cover songs, song writing, and much more. All of my training was done at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. I am open to teaching all ages and styles. I study rock the most, but I can play, and teach any kind of music. I focus on custumizing lessons for each student. I am here to help students achieve all the goals they have in music, and play the songs they have always dreamed of playing. Contact me for more details. Thank You

The main benefit of taking music lessons is that they help instill a love of music! Students who take music lessons are much more likely to enjoy many different types of music, because greater understanding increases musical appreciation. Music lessons also have been shown to improve students academic performance, resulting in higher test scores in maths, sciences, and linguistics.
Live performing is a great asset to any musician. Musika offers recitals every year in the Spring where students of all ages and levels can come together to show off their hard work! Teachers help the students to choose and prepare their material, and Musika provides the venue and a piano accompanist if the student should need one.
Musika offers a introductory trial lesson to every student! This lesson gives you the opportunity to meet with your teacher and discuss your lessons with no obligation. If for any reason you are not satisfied we will not charge you for this, and would be happy to match you with another teacher if you would like.

Jessie is the finest musician I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I find her overall concept of approaching an instrument to be both comprehensive and effective. Each technique she has acquired has made it possible for her to tailor her method to a variety of ages and individuals. I cannot speak more highly of Miss Jessie's abilities. Her lengthy and impressive cradecials speak for themselves. I recommend no hesitation in seeking her services!

Vince is a great drum teacher for my 8 year old son. We go to his house where he has a studio setup with a huge drum set. He has been very patient but really holds my son responsible for learning the right way to play. After about 5 lessons, my son is playing some rhythms on the drums and reading music. He looks forward to his lessons with Vince.

Our kids love Mr. Lynwood. Mr. Lynwood is very patient and skillful teaching our kids both music theory and guitar/piano. He keeps them engaged and motivated during their lessons and we are seeing -or rather hearing- fast improvement in the kids' dexterity playing their respective instruments. We would recommend this good natured instructor to anybody.

Melissa is very encouraging, positive, supportive and patient. She knows how to explain the technical details of flute and music notation to kids in a way that makes sense to them. She has been reliable so far turning up on time and calling if there is a need to reschedule. I would definitely recommend her to others.

We've only had a few lessons with Elisa, but so far we really like her. She has a lot of great suggestions for solo pieces as well as orchestral music that involves all 3 of my boys, while also including some Christian music that we can play at church. She is very patient in explaining the lessons and encouraging!

Bill has been great with my 2 young children (age 3 & 6). He has integrated games into the lessons - they have enjoyed showing us how to play the games when it is time to practice piano. Bill has been easy to contact and rescheduling has not been a problem if we have a conflict at our regular lesson time.

Angela has been a perfect match-up for me. She is warm and welcoming, and also serious about teaching - she keeps our time focused and on track. What I truly appreciate, as a new singer anxiously preparing for an event, is the confidence she gives me. Angela is very encouraging. I enjoy coming to class.

After signing up for lessons with David L. I knew I made the right choice. Just after a couple of weeks I didn't see him as a teacher but as a best friend. There was always a relaxed atmosphere during the lessons. He was very easy to talk to and he really listen to you. If I ever had a question he would answer. He tailors to what ever you want to do in that lesson. David L. is a great teacher and a friend. I totally recommend him for anyone

Henry is teaching my daughter how to play piano. Henry is an excellent teacher, we really like and appreciate him. His teaching style works very well for my daughter, she is comfortable which makes learning enjoyable. Henry is very patient and I can see that he is passionate about teaching music. Great teacher for sure.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
